During a traffic stop Monday in North Nashville, 23-year-old Kevontez Deshawn Brooks, A.K.A Luh Stain, ran from Metro Nashville Police carrying a stolen pistol in his hand as he fled. He is now held without bond. Metro Police were conducting a traffic stop Monday night near 26th and Clarksville Pike in North Nashville, and during the stop 23-year-old Kevontez Brooks jumped from the vehicle and fled, while holding a pistol in his hand. After a short pursuit, Brooks dropped the weapon, which was stolen, as ordered by police and was taken into custody. Brooks was not licensed to carry a gun in Tennessee.
In addition to the new charges of evading arrest, theft, and unlawful possession of a weapon, Brooks had outstanding warrants for not showing up for a court date for a previous evading arrest and drug possession charge in January of 2018, and a probation violation, for which he is now jailed without bond.
